This was my favorite rug at Sauder Village this year! Hooked by Kris Miller of Howell, Michigan. The Santa was designed by Lori from
Not Forgotten Farm. Love the design and colors......wouldn't change a thing!
Americana is always a favorite for me :)
Amazing how this hooked piece was adapted for a small child's chair!
Met Polly Minick and Laurie Simpson this year at Sauder. Their quilts, hooked rugs and fabric designs are spectacular!
Realistic hooked rug......amazing! Click on the picture to see close up :)
Inspired again by the talent at "Rug Hooking Week" at Sauder Village. My friend, Jann, and I drove in on Wednesday. Arrived only a few hours before I had to teach my class so we didn't have much time to look around after I set up my class. I took pictures of my favorite rugs...there were many more than what I am showing.
I was very pleased with how the punchneedle class went....it was my first time teaching!!! There were16 wonderful ladies in my class! They were all very kind and patient learning this craft. By the end of the 3.5 hours, they left confident that they will be able to finish their projects at home :)
I will possibly be teaching rug punching and Jann may be teaching her techniques for creating her felted purses and totes at next years rug hooking week! We are thrilled to be involved in the show at Sauder Village. It is a top-notch gathering of many talented folks. I always leave inspired to do more and more rugs and punchneedle! I was already sketching new designs this morning!
Jann and I stayed the night in Bowling Green, Ohio and the next morning went shopping in Findlay...only 20 minutes south of where we stayed. We purchased many treasures at Early American Home,
Homestead Collection and
Jeffrey's Antiques.
While we were at Early American Home, Barb invited us to come back October 6th to be a vendor at her store! She had many of her customers tell her that she should have a show at her store the weekend of the "Christmas in October" at the Hancock County Fairgrounds in Findlay Ohio because they want to see more "primitive" artists. Jann and I checked our calendars and it's a deal! We will have a booth set up from 10am-3pm October 6th at Barb's store,
Early American Home in Findlay Ohio, so if you live within driving distance, come by and check it out! Jann will have vintage looking jewelry and felted purses, totes and ornaments. I will be offering my punchneedle and rug patterns, one-of-a-kind treasures, original paintings and prints. Save the date and hope to see you there!
